Who we are

The Instituto Sivis is a nonpartisan and non-profit Civil Society Organization whose vision is a collaborative, honest and democratic Brazil. Our purpose is deepen the roots of democratic values in the hearts of Brazilians.

Why we exist

Brazil is a country marked by the lack of active participation by the population in public affairs and in the construction of politics. This is related to several problems, such as low political knowledge, lack of interest in the progress of political life, low levels of adherence to the democratic regime and distrust of strangers, which makes social cooperation difficult.

Whay we want

In view of the need to strengthen Brazilian citizenship, the path chosen by the Instituto Sivis is to invest in democratic culture. By activating the sense of responsibility and belonging, democratic culture fosters the notions of identity, connection and collectivity, based on democratic values, such as collaboration and honesty. A strong democratic culture creates a favorable environment for the unleashing of the potential of Brazilians, as it creates a fertile environment for the consolidation of political and social rights in the country.

The end result is to transform a Brazilian democratic culture in a positive way, favoring both sustainability and the improvement of democracy in the country. For that, from a systemic perspective, Sivis uses research, tools and social articulation, to identify and lead in the levels of political knowledge, contributing to the commitment to a democracy and stimulating engagement with community and political life.

Diagnosis: identifying what is and why that is so.

Through research, studies and analysis, we make a thorough diagnosis of the origin of our greatest social problems through a systemic perspective.

Strategic intervention:

Using reality to our advantage, we develop programs and projects that seek to empirically test ways for and find possible solutions to such transformations.

Mobilization:

We approach people and institutions that have the power to initiate such transformations, stimulating direct and coordinated action.

The intrinsic value of human life guides our work based on the respect and consideration given to each person, both within our institution and in society. We combine this with the vast potential of each of our professionals, encouraging them to achieve integral development so that we can achieve great quality and impact in our work and in Brazilian society.

Trust

Interpersonal relationships are built on the basis of mutual trust and respect (not only basic respect for people, but also showing concern and interest for others).
