ADVISORY BOARD

Bernard de Laguiche

Is the CEO and co-founder of Grupo Ortus SA Curitiba; a majority partner of Agro Mercantil Vila Rica; member of the administrative board of Solvay SA Brussels; delegated administrator of Solvac SA Brussels and Board Chairman of Peróxidos do Brasil Curitiba. He was CFO of Grupo Solvay, from 2005 to 2013. In 2013, he was acknowledged as the CFO of the year by “Trends-Tendances”, a Belgium economics magazine.

Guilherme Cunha Pereira

Holding a PhD in Communications Law from Universidade de São Paulo (USP), Guilherme Cunha Pereira is one of the creators of the Fórum Futuro 10, and the Executive President of GRPCOM – Grupo Paranaense de Comunicação, one of the largest communication groups in the country.

Jorge Gerdau Johannpeter

CEO of Grupo Gerdau for over two decades, he is currently a member of its board of directors, the founder of Movimento Brasil Competitivo and a member of the advisory board of the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (Harvard University).

Liziane Silva

As an economist from Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR), Liziane Silva is co-founder of INK; a fellow of the Global Good Fund; responsible for Brazil’s international PMD (Project Management for Development) certification; and founding curator of Global Shapers in Curitiba.

Rodrigo Brito

Co-founder of INK and Aliança Empreendedora, which supports low-income microentrepreneurs throughout Brazil, Rodrigo Brito is a contributor to newspapers Folha de S. Paulo and Gazeta do Povo, and currently serving as Water Access Manager at the Coca-Cola Institute.

Guilherme Ventura

Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from UFPR with an MBA in Strategic Business Management (Instituto Superior de Administração e Economia / Fundação Getúlio Vargas), he worked in the metallurgical industry as a process engineer and today works as a performance pilot in test engineering at Renault.

Caio Fernandez Cordeiro

Business consultant, graduated in Chemical Engineering from UFPR with PMP, CBPP and HCMP certifications. He worked with several clients, bringing methodologies for strategy, governance, project management and organizational change.

Leonardo Ragnini

Holds a degree in Civil Engineering from UFPR and an MBA in Project Management from ISAE / FGV. Studied in Germany at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. He worked in the civil construction sector and worked as a Project Manager at Instituto Sivis. He is currently Vice President at Argon Energia..

Research Board

Amy Erica Smith

PhD in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh and Associate Professor of Political Science at Iowa State University. She is also currently a Carnegie Fellow in the 2020-2022 academic period. Her research examines how ordinary people understand and engage in politics. She has published two books, the most recent being entitled Religion and Brazilian Democracy: Mobilizing the People of God (2019, Cambridge University Press), and has several articles published in several international scientific journals, such as American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, British Journal of Political Science and Perspectives on Politics

Ednaldo Ribeiro

Associate Professor of Department of Social Sciences at State University of Maringá. Productivity Scholarship from CNPQ, Level 2. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the Federal University of Paraná (2008) and conducts research in the area of Political Behavior, mainly on values, democratic attitudes and political participation. Author of the books “Post-materialist Values and Political Culture in Brazil” (Eduem, 2011) and “Political Participation in Latin America” (Eduem, 2015). As well as articles in periodicals such as Data, Brazilian Political Science Review and Opinion Public.

José Álvaro Moises

Senior Professor and Coordinator of the Research Group on the Quality of Democracy at IEA/USP. He is the author of several books, including Crises Of Democracy – The Role of Congress, Deputies and Parties (Appris, 2019); Building Democracies – Challenges, Crisis and Response to the Rule of Law, Access to Justice and Political Representation (GlobalSouth Press, 2018), Political Distrust and its Impacts on the Quality of Democracy (Edusp. 2013), Democracy and Distrust – Why the Citizens Distrust Public Institutions (Edusp, 2010) and the Crisis of Representative Democracy and Neopopulism in Brazil (KAS, 2021). Commentator for Rádio USP on the column The Quality of Democracy.

Michael Coppedge

He holds a degree in Political Science from Yale University, where he also holds a PhD. He is a professor of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame and has taught at Princeton and Yale Universities. Researcher at the Varieties of Democracy Project, which is responsible for developing new measures based on hundreds of aspects of democracy and governance in virtually every country in the world since 1900. He is the author of important books in the field of studies of democracy, such as: Democratization and Research Methods, also Strong Parties and Lame Ducks: Presidential Partyarchy and Factionalism in Venezuela.

Nara Pavão

Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science at UFPE and Research Productivity Scholarship at CNPq – Level 2. PhD in Political Science at the University of Notre Dame (2015). During the 2015-2016 academic year, she held a postdoctoral degree at the Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions (CSDI) at Vanderbilt University. Her main lines of research are political behavior and comparative politics, and her productions seek to understand the functioning of democratic accountability. Her research has been published in international scientific journals such as The Journal of Politics, Political Research Quarterly, Electoral Studies and Latin American Politics and Society.

Pedro Veiga

Executive Director

Pedro Veiga is a philanthropist, entrepreneur and co-founder of Instituto Sivis. He is currently the executive director of the organization, leading both the research and implementation departments. He is also a board member of the Dutch company BlueM, chairman of the board of directors of the Acta Family Office and member of the board of directors of Grupo Paranaense de Comunicação (GRPCOM).

Henrique Zétola

Executive Director

Henrique Zétola holds a degree in Business Administration from Faculdade de Administração e Economia (2012), is co-founder of Instituto Sivis and executive director of the organization, responsible for its institutional results and the construction of its strategic planning. Experienced with the multinational financial services sector, he also plays an important role in the institution's Human Resources and Finance departments.

Guilherme Melo

Research Manager

Guilherme Melo de Freitas has a graduation and Master in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo and is a PhD candidate in Education at the same university. Guilherme is a pedagogue with experience in the classroom and in educational guidance in public and private schools. He was a project coordinator for the Suzano (SP) Department of Education and was Director of Studies and Evaluation at the Osasco (SP) Family Department. He has also worked in NGOs dedicated to education (Todos pela Educação, Centro Lemann, Instituto Reuna, Oficina Municipal, Instituto Votorantim and Profissão Docente).

Jamil Assis

Head of Institutional Relations

Jamil Assis holds a Civil Engineer degree from Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (2013), with previous experience in managing engineering projects related to the social sector. He was involved in the Junior Enterprise Movement, participating in Tetris Empresa Júnior, the Federation of Junior Enterprises of the State of Paraná and the Brazilian Confederation of Junior Enterprises. He is currently responsible for the Model City Program.

Fernanda dos Santos

Partnerships Analyst

Fernanda is a master student in Urban Planning at Universidade Federal do Paraná. Graduate in Architecture and Urbanism at Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho and part of Junior Enterprise Movement.

Guilherme Dockhorn

HR Bussiness partner and Financial Analyst

Guilherme Dockhorn is a postgraduated in Human Capital Management at FAE Business School, holding a degree in Business Administration from the same institution (2019), with emphasis on remuneration systems and performance appraisal.

Sara Clem

Impact Intern

Sara Clem is a student of International Relations at Universidade Positivo. She has been working in administrative processes and trend analysis in democracy-building projects.

Vanilda Maia

Vanilda Maia is responsible for cleaning and assisting in the organization and preservation of the Institute's office and resources since 2013.

Donation and sales policy

Instituto Sivis, a legal entity governed by private law, headquartered at Rua Mauricio Caillet, 47, Bairro Verde Verde, Curitiba, Paraná, CEP 80.250-110, registered with the CNPJ/MF under No. 14919095 / 0001-56, state registration under No. 90751637-78, is a non-profit organization.

The terms of this document deal with donations made by individuals to Instituto Sivis on a voluntary basis and without obligation of continuity for a pre-stipulated period.

By making financial contributions to Instituto Sivis, individuals declare to agree to these terms.

The donations made to Instituto Sivis will be destined to the operation of the organization, its projects and partnerships. All the amount raised will contribute to the work and maintenance of Instituto Sivis, and may be allocated on different projects, according to strategic plans and specific needs.

ETHICS AND ACCOUNTING

Instituto Sivis undertakes to disclose, annually, in electronic form, the “Accountability Report”.

The activities carried out by Instituto Sivis will be disseminated through email marketing, the official Facebook and LinkedIn pages, the organization's website and may also be disseminated by sending materials to communication vehicles.

All actions of Instituto Sivis, including but not limited to fundraising, have as their sole objective the fostering of a truly democratic culture in Brazil and in the world. No member of the Instituto Sivis will personally benefit from the organization's actions, partnerships or financial revenues.

REFUSAL OF DONATIONS

Instituto Sivis reserves the right to refuse donations, even without motivation. The amount will be returned to the donor in its entirety.

DONOR RELATIONSHIP CHANNEL

Instituto Sivis will maintain a channel for updating registration and financial data, providing information and solving problems for all donors by email [email protected].

PAYMENT OPTIONS

For donations made through the website, Instituto Sivis will not provide bank account for transfer or deposit unless exceptions previously agreed with the Fundraising Department. Neither will donations in cash, at events or at their headquarters, be accepted without prior agreement with the Fundraising Department and authorization from the Finance Department.

Donations made by debit and/or credit card will be charged through an approved and secure payment gateway.

NON PAYMENT OF DONATIONS

Non-payment of one or more donations, regardless of the reason, will not cause the DONOR a charge of a fine, interest or inclusion in any type of credit restriction register. The payment of donations is optional and can be suspended at any time through the email [email protected].

DATA PRIVACY

Instituto Sivis undertakes not to disclose your data to third parties, send unwanted messages (SPAM), content unrelated to the cause and/or activities of the organization itself. All data shared between the DONOR and Instituto Sivis will be stored on secure servers using competent providers for this service.

PagSeguro:

For donations and sales of the “Coletânea da Democracia”, we use PagSeguro's server, which has licensed encryption and authentication technology to securely transmit sensitive information, including credit card numbers, password and other private information. To keep user information secure, PagSeguro uses high technology.

Sivis' website security

To further ensure site security, Sivis uses Wordfence premium protection system, designed specifically to effectively protect WordPress sites. Wordfence includes a firewall and malware scanning system, thus ensuring site security and blocking various types of attacks.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Unsubscribing from fundraising and communication mailings may be requested at any time by email to [email protected].

REFUND POLICY

In case of donation entries by mistake, fraud or duplicity, the refund can be requested by email to [email protected]. The refund request will be reviewed and processed within 15 days.

MENTIONING INSTITUTO SIVIS IN PUBLICATIONS

The donation to Instituto Sivis does not authorize the DONOR to speak publicly on behalf of Instituto Sivis, as a representative, volunteer or supporter. The use of Instituto Sivis logo in commercial or print publications online, by companies, other civil society organizations or websites, is prohibited, even if their members donate or have donated to the organization.

Instituto Sivis provides a donor seal that can be used on the social networks and/or websites of its donors. To request the seal, please contact us via email [email protected]. All content on websites, marketing emails, print publications and videos produced by the Instituto Sivis are the property of Insituto Sivis and its partners and, when replicated, must cite the original source.

FUNDRAISING TERMS

Any fundraising action on behalf of Instituto Sivis will be individual and voluntary and must be agreed in advance with the Instituto Sivis’ Fundraising Department, requesting written authorization and respecting the organization's terms of conduct.

RECUSA DE DOAÇÕES

O Instituto Sivis se reserva ao direito de recusar doações, mesmo que sem motivação. O valor será devolvido ao doador em sua integralidade.

O Instituto Sivis manterá um canal para atualização de dados cadastrais e financeiros, prestação de informações e resolução de problemas para todos os doadores pelo e-mail [email protected].

MEIOS DE PAGAMENTO

Para doações feitas através do site, o Instituto Sivis não disponibilizará conta bancária para transferência ou depósito salvo exceções previamente acordadas com o departamento de Captação de Recursos. Também não serão aceitas doações em espécie, em eventos ou em sua sede, sem acordo prévio com o departamento de Captação de Recursos e autorização do Departamento Financeiro.
