ADVISORY BOARD

Bernard de Laguiche

Is the CEO and co-founder of Grupo Ortus SA Curitiba; a majority partner of Agro Mercantil Vila Rica; member of the administrative board of Solvay SA Brussels; delegated administrator of Solvac SA Brussels and Board Chairman of Peróxidos do Brasil Curitiba. He was CFO of Grupo Solvay, from 2005 to 2013. In 2013, he was acknowledged as the CFO of the year by “Trends-Tendances”, a Belgium economics magazine.

Guilherme Cunha Pereira

Holding a PhD in Communications Law from Universidade de São Paulo (USP), Guilherme Cunha Pereira is one of the creators of the Fórum Futuro 10, and the Executive President of GRPCOM – Grupo Paranaense de Comunicação, one of the largest communication groups in the country.

Jorge Gerdau Johannpeter

CEO of Grupo Gerdau for over two decades, he is currently a member of its board of directors, the founder of Movimento Brasil Competitivo and a member of the advisory board of the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (Harvard University).

Liziane Silva

As an economist from Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR), Liziane Silva is co-founder of INK; a fellow of the Global Good Fund; responsible for Brazil’s international PMD (Project Management for Development) certification; and founding curator of Global Shapers in Curitiba.

Rodrigo Brito

Co-founder of INK and Aliança Empreendedora, which supports low-income microentrepreneurs throughout Brazil, Rodrigo Brito is a contributor to newspapers Folha de S. Paulo and Gazeta do Povo, and currently serving as Water Access Manager at the Coca-Cola Institute.

Guilherme Ventura

Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from UFPR with an MBA in Strategic Business Management (Instituto Superior de Administração e Economia / Fundação Getúlio Vargas), he worked in the metallurgical industry as a process engineer and today works as a performance pilot in test engineering at Renault.

Caio Fernandez Cordeiro

Business consultant, graduated in Chemical Engineering from UFPR with PMP, CBPP and HCMP certifications. He worked with several clients, bringing methodologies for strategy, governance, project management and organizational change.

Leonardo Ragnini

Holds a degree in Civil Engineering from UFPR and an MBA in Project Management from ISAE / FGV. Studied in Germany at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. He worked in the civil construction sector and worked as a Project Manager at Instituto Sivis. He is currently Vice President at Argon Energia..

Amy Erica Smith

PhD in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh and Associate Professor of Political Science at Iowa State University. She is also currently a Carnegie Fellow in the 2020-2022 academic period. Her research examines how ordinary people understand and engage in politics. She has published two books, the most recent being entitled Religion and Brazilian Democracy: Mobilizing the People of God (2019, Cambridge University Press), and has several articles published in several international scientific journals, such as American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, British Journal of Political Science and Perspectives on Politics

Ednaldo Ribeiro

Associate Professor of Department of Social Sciences at State University of Maringá. Productivity Scholarship from CNPQ, Level 2. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the Federal University of Paraná (2008) and conducts research in the area of ​​Political Behavior, mainly on values, democratic attitudes and political participation. Author of the books “Post-materialist Values ​​and Political Culture in Brazil” (Eduem, 2011) and “Political Participation in Latin America” (Eduem, 2015). As well as articles in periodicals such as Data, Brazilian Political Science Review and Opinion Public.

José Álvaro Moises

Senior Professor and Coordinator of the Research Group on the Quality of Democracy at IEA/USP. He is the author of several books, including Crises Of Democracy – The Role of Congress, Deputies and Parties (Appris, 2019); Building Democracies – Challenges, Crisis and Response to the Rule of Law, Access to Justice and Political Representation (GlobalSouth Press, 2018), Political Distrust and its Impacts on the Quality of Democracy (Edusp. 2013), Democracy and Distrust – Why the Citizens Distrust Public Institutions (Edusp, 2010) and the Crisis of Representative Democracy and Neopopulism in Brazil (KAS, 2021). Commentator for Rádio USP on the column The Quality of Democracy.

Michael Coppedge

He holds a degree in Political Science from Yale University, where he also holds a PhD. He is a professor of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame and has taught at Princeton and Yale Universities. Researcher at the Varieties of Democracy Project, which is responsible for developing new measures based on hundreds of aspects of democracy and governance in virtually every country in the world since 1900. He is the author of important books in the field of studies of democracy, such as: Democratization and Research Methods, also Strong Parties and Lame Ducks: Presidential Partyarchy and Factionalism in Venezuela.

Nara Pavão

Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science at UFPE and Research Productivity Scholarship at CNPq – Level 2. PhD in Political Science at the University of Notre Dame (2015). During the 2015-2016 academic year, she held a postdoctoral degree at the Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions (CSDI) at Vanderbilt University. Her main lines of research are political behavior and comparative politics, and her productions seek to understand the functioning of democratic accountability. Her research has been published in international scientific journals such as The Journal of Politics, Political Research Quarterly, Electoral Studies and Latin American Politics and Society.
